The University of Maine Systems (UMS), established in 1968, is the state's largest educational enterprise. With an annual enrollment of nearly 30,000 students, the System positively impacts the lives of hundreds of thousands of Mainers each year and wants to continue doing so. The coastal state is home to seven universities, including the University of Maine School of Law. However, UMS also boasts one of the best marine science programs in the United States and has the largest concentration of marine experts in the state of Maine. Their diverse faculty includes experts in subject areas such as molecular biology, fisheries economics, and marine geology, and the location and prestige of UMS makes it a very alluring destination for anyone desiring to go into the marine sciences field.
UMS wants to find respondents and potential vendors who are able to provide offshore fishing items for various projects, including offshore wind work and other tagging programs in the School of Marine Sciences. Potential vendors must be located in the Greater Portland, Maine area and must stock the items listed in the proposal here. Responses for the proposal should be electronically submitted to UMSResponses@maine.edu no later than July 17,2024 at 11:59 PM EST.
